Now that you already know the personal pronouns, you will now learn the first sentences, that you need when meeting someone:
my name is | ich heiße |   the word-by-word translation would be
"mein Name ist", but this is not how it is said in German.
"ich heiße" could be translated by "I am called". |
your name is | Du heißt |   |
your name is | Sie heißen |   |
your name is | Ihr heißt |   |
his name is | er heißt |   |
her name is | sie heißt |   |
its name is | es heißt |   |
our name is | wir heißen |   |
their name is | sie heißen |   |
In English the endings of the verbs are all the same except for he, she and it, where you put the letter s at the end (I walk, he walks), but in German, there are lots of endings.
Usually the endings are like this (but sorry, there are lots of exceptions also). In my example the word is "to go" which means "gehen". We take the main body of this word (geh..) and put the right ending to it:
ich (I) | ...e | like in "ich heiße" or in "ich gehe" (I go) |
Du (you) | ...st | like in "Du gehst" |
Sie (you) | ...en | like in "Sie gehen" |
er (he) | ...t | like in "er geht" |
sie (she) | ...t | like in "sie geht" |
es (it) | ...t | like in "es geht" |
wir (we) | ...en | like in "wir gehen" |
Ihr (you) | ...t | like in "ihr geht" |
sie (they) | ...en | like in "sie gehen" |
The same you could do with the following words:
to love (lieben - main body is lieb...) - ich liebe, Du liebst.....
to wish (wünschen - main body is wünsch...) - ich wünsche, Du wünschst...
to own (besitzen - main body is besitz...) - ich besitze, Du besitzt...
to come (kommen - main body is komm...) - ich komme, Du kommst..
to write (schreiben - main body is schreib...) - ich schreibe, Du schreibst..
to ask (fragen - main body is frag...) - ich frage, Du fragst..
And now some common sayings
I give you the correct word-byword translation too, but please only use the common translation:

You might need a dictionary for it. And as we aren't in school here, that is allowed. :-))
Good luck!
